About
As the owner of Lifestyles Home Improvement, which incorporated in January of 1997, it has been my privilege to finish in excess of one hundred thirty-five basements which have varied in size from 400 to 2500 square feet. Our work has generally centered around Southern Johnson County but has taken us North to Riverside, South to Spring Hill, West to Cedar Creek, and East to Lee's Summit and a few at the Lake of the Ozarks.
My introduction to residential remodeling came at age 13 when I began working with my Father in the cabinet shop he owned during my summer vacations. I called myself a cabinet maker until I was 19 when I took a position as a draftsman while attending engineering college. In June of 1967 I entered the U S Navy and after boot camp and months of schooling joined the surface Navy aboard an aircraft carrier in the Western Pacific and performed as a shipboard electrician on three 8 month deployments delivering air strikes 24/7 on strategic sites in Vietnam . After serving proudly aboard the USS Kitty Hawk for 38 months, my four year enlistment complete, I came back to civilian life.
By 1977 I had spent 2 years in a ho hum job, 3 years in college and was ready to break into something new and outside. Between 1977 and 1997 I worked as a residential framer eventually having my own crew until 1987 when I worked several years as a new housing building superintendent and then spent the next 8 years doing residential remodeling.
The skill and experience I and my company bring to each job began developing in 1960 in my Father's cabinet shop and it has been a life-long endeavor to look back at every job I have done and feel only pride.
